Community Brunch at Matt The Miller’s Tavern
September 16, 2013
Matt the Miller’s Tavern in Carmel City Center will be hosting a Community Day benefiting the Carmel United Methodist Church Food Pantry on Sunday, September 22. The restaurant will donate 25% of net sales from their Sunday Brunch to the Food Pantry.
“The Carmel community has welcomed us with open arms” says Craig Barnum, President of CLB Restaurants, which owns and operates Matt the Miller’s Tavern. He continues “we would like to thank the community for its support throughout our first year by giving back to a cause central to the community.”
The Carmel United Methodist Church (CUMC) Food Pantry, which is celebrating its 21st year in operation, is a food distribution ministry of the Church that provides food to residents of Hamilton County. The Food Pantry serves an average of 300 families per month and requires approximately $5,000 in revenue each month to ensure the shelves are sufficiently stocked for their clients.
Matt the Miller’s Sunday Brunch is offered each week, 10:00 to 2:30, and offers a wide variety of dishes, from traditional breakfast favorites to Chef Specials that change each week. The culinary team offers made-to-order omelettes and a fresh Belgian Waffle station along with such favorites as Eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs, sausage, and potatoes.
The Brunch Buffet also offers a variety of Flatbreads, two gourmet salads, fresh pastries, fruit and desserts. The Brunch Buffet is $16.95 for adults, $7.95 for kids, 5 to 10, and free for kids four and under with a paying adult. In addition, guests may enjoy the Hoosier Mama Bloody Mary Bar for $7 each or the Crimson Coffee Bar for $2 per guest.
In addition to monetary gifts, the Food Pantry accepts food donations and is always in need of cereal, juice, paper products, personal products, peanut butter and crackers. In September, a special emphasis will be placed on securing donations of soups and boxed side dishes in addition to their regular needs.
