Out of the Blue Polish Pottery & Gifts

Carmel City Center is excited to welcome Out of the Blue Polish Pottery & Gifts to the interior Plaza—opening September 19, 2018. Located at 727 Hanover Place, this will be the second location for Out of the Blue Polish Pottery and its first location in Indiana.

In a small village in Boleslawiec, Poland, skilled artisans individually handcraft, and hand paint each piece using a sponge stamping technique that can take up to 3 hours to paint. All of the pottery may be used every day and is oven, microwave and dishwasher safe. Out of the Blue Polish Pottery will feature a full range of the pottery, including tableware, baking and serving pieces and decorative pieces for the home. Limited edition, signed Signature pieces will be available along with traditional and seasonal patterns and pieces.

Owner, Ruthanne Burgard, was living in Germany when she received her first piece of Polish pottery and has been using it every day since. In 2006, she opened Out of the Blue Polish Pottery in Monticello, Illinois and continues to travel to Boleslawiec once a year to source the pottery for her shop. The new Carmel City Center location will be one of a few dedicated shops for Polish pottery in Indiana.

“I couldn’t think of a better location than Carmel City Center to expand Out of the Blue Polish Pottery and showcase the unique, artistic pottery that so many people fall in love with,” said Burgard.

In addition to the Carmel City Center location, Out of the Blue Polish Pottery will also have a booth at this year’s Christkindlmarkt in Carmel where a selection of the pottery will be available for purchase.

Customers will be able to shop at Out of the Blue Polish Pottery & Gifts Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Special extended holiday hours are planned.

Out of the Blue Polish Pottery & Gifts will be located on the interior plaza level of Carmel City Center at 727 Hanover Place. Surface parking is available on plaza level (accessible from City Center Drive), in the underground garage (accessible from Range Line Road as well as City Center Drive) and in the Veterans Way garage.
